'Being part of something bigger'

Five weeks have whizzed by and all 10 of the Coins and Crosses creative sessions at De Lucy House in Diss and Oak Lodge in Attleborough with Suffolk Artlink have taken place. There has been painting, poetry, and pottery, and we look forward to displaying what everyone has made at our Heritage Open Day event in September.

We have loved seeing pictures and hearing comments from people who have taken part and created things inspired by the Winfarthing finds:

‘The group has changed, it's brought us together; we've bonded.’

Lloyd, Oak Lodge resident

‘I am very proud of the tiny pot I made.’

Sheila, De Lucy House resident

‘I hated history at school - it never came across to me - but this morning made me think more about the whole environment, it brought it alive to me.’

Ann, De Lucy House, Diss

Coins and Crosses: Seeking the Anglo-Saxons in Winfarthing and Waveney is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we will be able to connect local communities with our Anglo-Saxon history.
